Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Grand Rapids area.
Grand Rapids in Kent County, surrounded by pine forests that once supported a regional furniture capital, and noted as the birthplace of President Gerald R. Ford, provides the area with top quality opera, symphony, theatre, fine dining, museums, a zoo and other features of big city life. The Ford Museum is a national treasure, with its many American artifacts and rare pieces from the Lincoln administration. From Grand Rapids, the beaches and West Coastal retreats of Holland, Grand Haven and Muskegon are all within an hour’s drive. Originally inhabited by Ottawa Indians and later by fur traders, all that remains of its origins are the Coho salmon which still swim upstream across the rapids of Grand River, the largest river in Michigan, for which the city was named. The gentle hills of Western Michigan which surround Grand Rapids are perfect for hiking or playing golf on one of the many beautiful courses in the area.
